SCR Record Label

At Slow Century Records, our label is a natural extension of what we do every day in the shop - championing great music and the people who make it.

Rooted in the Midlands

We are proud to be Midlands-based, working closely with emerging and established local artists who are shaping the sound of our region.

Our mission is simple:
support local talent and help artists reach more people - authentically and sustainably.

What We Offer

Production Guidance & Advice
While we don’t provide in-house production, we offer honest, practical advice throughout the recording process - from choosing the right producer or studio to shaping a sound that stays true to you. We’re here to guide, not control.

Distribution
We help artists get their music into the hands of listeners, both physically and digitally - including vinyl releases and wider distribution channels.

Press, Airplay & Industry Mentoring
Navigating the music industry can be overwhelming.  We support artists with:

  • Press and media outreach

  • Support with securing radio airplay

  • Artist development

  • Release strategy

  • Branding and positioning

  • Guidance around management and the wider music industry

Our aim is to open doors - and show you how to keep them open.

Built on Community

As an independent record store and label, we understand the importance of community.  We don’t just release records - we build relationships.

We work collaboratively with our artists, offering honest advice, practical support, and a platform that helps their music travel beyond the Midlands while staying rooted in where it began.

SWEETPOOL – 3AM, A HEAD OF SNAKES

Release date:   27th March on LP, CD and Digital

SWEETPOOL create a hypnotic melting pot of psychedelic punk and motorik grooves.  Powered by a pulsating rhythm section, e-drones, angular agit-pop guitar and bubbling synths, they simply don't bother to be bothered by anyone else’s rocking conventions.

Think Can, Hawkwind, Wire hurled together with a dose of post punk sneer, joyous melodic choruses and live wig outs to melt the ear drums.

Krautpunk! Prog Punk! whatever genre they aren’t, it's a wonderful whirl of excitement and totally addictive snake oil for the masses.
