WHAT A DAY! Slow Century Summer Jam 2026
Well… what can we say?
On Saturday 29th August we held our very first Slow Century Summer Jam and, despite the British weather doing its very best to join the line-up, you came anyway and you came in force!
The rain certainly didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. From the moment things got underway, Knowle was buzzing with music, friends, familiar faces and plenty of new ones too.
The bands and artists were absolutely incredible, the atmosphere was brilliant all day and our 3 for £10 vinyl boxes were a roaring success - we’re not entirely sure there was much left by the end!
Most importantly, thanks to everyone’s generosity, we also raised an amazing amount for our two chosen charities. We’re incredibly grateful to every single person who bought raffle tickets, bid and supported the fundraising throughout the day.
Summer Jam was never just about Slow Century Records.
Our brilliant friends at Café Viola and The Ale Rooms had fantastic days too, and seeing people moving around Knowle, supporting local businesses, listening to live music and simply enjoying themselves was exactly what we hoped Summer Jam would be about.
A huge thank you has to go to every musician, DJ, business and person who helped make the day happen and, of course, to every one of you who turned up, embraced the rain and supported us.
When we opened Slow Century Records last November, we could never have imagined quite how much support we would receive or how many brilliant people we would meet along the way.
Yesterday was one of those days that reminded us exactly why we did it.
Music. Friends. Local businesses. Community.
That was Summer Jam.
And judging by the number of you who asked us…
“When’s the next one?”
All we’re saying for now is…
Keep your eyes peeled. 👀🐌🎶
Thank you, Knowle.
You were incredible.

Slow Century Summer Jam 2026: Music, Friends & a Day in Knowle
Since opening the doors to Slow Century Records on 8 November 2025, one of the best things about the whole adventure has been the people we’ve met along the way.
What started as a record shop has very quickly become something much bigger for us.
We’ve made new friends, worked alongside some brilliant local businesses, welcomed musicians and DJs through our doors and, most importantly, become part of a community that genuinely supports one another.
And the Slow Century Summer Jam is really a celebration of all of that.
Saturday 29 August - save the date!
On Saturday 29 August, we’re getting together with our friends at Café Viola, The Ale Rooms and The Vaults for a full day of live music, acoustic sessions, DJs, food, drinks and plenty more around Knowle.
There’s no grand idea behind Summer Jam other than bringing people together and having a really good day.
We love music. We love our village. And we’ve been incredibly lucky to meet so many great people since opening the shop.
So we thought… why not put all of those things together?
Music from morning until night
We’ve got a brilliant line-up joining us across the day, with music starting at 10am at Café Viola, moving between Slow Century Records and The Ale Rooms, before finishing with an after-party at The Vaults.
The running order is:
10.00am - Marc Cijfer
Café Viola
12.00pm - Disc Selecta
Slow Century Records
1.30pm - Matt Tregortha plays Elliott Smith
Slow Century Records
2.30pm - SLACKRR
Slow Century Records
3.30pm - Ellen Egan
The Ale Rooms
4.00pm - Takeaway Thieves
Slow Century Records
5.00pm - Stuart Lennon
The Ale Rooms
5.30pm - Slow Century Records Allstars
Slow Century Records
7.00pm - Liz Lilacs
The Ale Rooms
7.30pm - Rats in the Belfry
The Ale Rooms
And when the live music finishes, it doesn’t have to mean the end of the night…
The Summer Jam After Party
We’ll be heading over to The Vaults for our Summer Jam After Party with Rod & Simon from N2N Productions, carrying things on with a Nostalgia DJ Night.
So whether you want to make a whole day and night of it or just pop along for an hour or two, there’ll be something happening throughout the day.
Come for a band you love. Discover somebody you’ve never heard before. Grab some food and a drink. Dig through some records. Catch a DJ set. Wander between the venues. Or simply come down and see what’s going on.
There’s no right way to do Summer Jam.
Summer Jam is about friends, music, local businesses and community and celebrating what can happen when you bring them all together.
Considering Slow Century Records hasn’t even been open a year yet, it feels pretty special to be able to put on a day like this with people who have become friends along the way.
We genuinely can’t wait.
Saturday 29 August 2026. Knowle.
Come and join us. ❤️

SLACKRR
BIO:
Southampton’s modern pop-punk heavyweights SLACKRR If you’ve seen them before, you already know - this isn’t just a gig. It’s chaos, hooks, sweat and pure pop-punk energy from the first note to the last.
In just six years, SLACKRR have gone from underground upstarts to one of the UK’s most talked-about alternative bands. Over 800 shows across the UK, USA and Europe. Sold-out releases. Four full-length albums. Festival main stages. And a live show that absolutely refuses to stand still.
They’ve hit stages at:
• Isle of Wight Festival (multiple years)
• Rebellion Festival (main stages)
• The Fest (USA)
• Punk Rock Holiday (Slovenia)
• Takedown Festival
• SBÄM Fest (Austria)
• Free & Easy Festival (Germany)
… and plenty more.
Radio support? BBC Radio 1. Kerrang! Radio prime time. BBC Introducing Track of the Week. Featured Artist of the Week. The lot.
They’ve worked with labels like SBAM Records and Lost Music Collective (Vinnie Fiorello - Less Than Jake), had a track featured on a Sony PlayStation 5 game, and continue to push UK pop punk forward with every release.
Latest album: A Light On The Horizon - and the live set hits even harder.
If you’re into big choruses, zero standing still, and the kind of gig where the room feels like it might lift off - this is it.
MATT TREGORTHA
BIO:
Previously a guitarist in various alternative rock bands such as Wiseacre and Since Monroe, Matt Tregortha began performing solo in 2010 with the intention of focusing on more mellow and stripped back music inspired by the likes of Elliott Smith, José González, and Nick Drake. Having countless shows across the UK and multiple album and EP releases under his belt, Matt has supported Sam Forrest of Nine Black Alps and Dave McPherson of InMe to name a few. In 2019, Matt performed at an Elliott Smith tribute show presented by Brighton-based band Seadog where they and many other artists raised money for Grassroots Suicide Prevention. He has also made appearances at various festivals in the UK such as Solihull Summer Fest, LUNAR, and Olliefest.
Matt continues to explore his love for alt-rock in the band Martha's Needle, which he fronts as a guitarist with his brother Rich. Matt's latest singles 'Could I Have Been a Sailor?' and ‘L.A. Serenade’ feature on his new studio album ‘Palace for the Blue’ which is now streaming!
